358. Q:
What work out can i do to lose weight on my waist/hips
A:
The only way to lose fat on any one part of the body is as part of the larger overall fatloss. You cannot target workouts or diets or pills to JUST lose weight on the stomach or hips, despite all of those of lying ads and claims to the contrary. The best way to lose fat overall (thereby losing it in the trouble areas like waist and hips) is through a whole-body weight training, a good diet, and perhaps moderate cardio. Please read this article for a total program prescription. Good luck!
359. Q:
Help me plz.Iam thin but seems most of my fat is stored in my stomach area(belly). To be exact when i am stand up or just lie in bed my stomach looks almost flat but when sit then u can clearly see the belly fat stored in this area.I would like my belly look always flat.I know this is difficult but whan must i do in order to achieve that?Till now i did weight training but it was not hard(i must admit)and also cardio with good nutrition.I cant lose more kgs as iam thin already but i wanna this fat to go.Some people have told me to do harder weight training. This way i ll do in time muscles and these will burn easier the fat in my belly. Is this the only way to beat that stubborn fat when iam already lean?Is there any other way to beat it finally? Thanks in advance.

Check out Q&A #314. It sounds like you've hit the most common plateau that guys hit on the way to a six-pack. When you get to be relatively lean all over, your body really doesn't want to give up its last major fat reserve around your stomach and lower back. From your body's perspective, this fat is like a rainy day reserve when it's starving and needs some energy to keep going. Your body wants to keep it at all costs and losing it will not be easy.
At this stage the best approach would be try and to slowly (always slowly!) bulk up, put on maybe 10-15 pounds of muscle, and then restart on cutting the fat. Both the bulking stage and the cutting stage need to be carefully planned and followed. One thing that'll be required is, of course, heavy whole-body weight training. During bulking you want to gain weight extremely slowly. 2 pounds per month or slower, in fact. If you gain too fast you'll just add too much extra fat. Similarly, during the cutting phase, you will want to lose no faster than 1 pound per week. So it may well take you half a year or more to complete both of these phases, but if done right it will get you that much closer to flat stomach. Check out my articles section to learn how to structure your diet and your workouts. Good luck!
361. Q:
re: protein powder
you say mix and drink right away.
what is effect of mixing prior to going to gym and drinking immediately after workout (1 to 1.5 hours later)
A:
It's probably OK, just don't leave whey dissolved overnight and don't keep creatine (if you use it) dissolved for more than a few minutes).
362. Q:
i have just started to exercise and follow a healthy eating plan when will i see results
A:
You should start seeing first results in a few weeks and after one year's time you should see some pretty dramatic progress. Just have patience and take the slow-and-steady approach. If you're losing weight, lose 1 pound per week. If you're trying to put on muscle and gaining weight, then gain it even slower than that. Your body will lose fat and build muscle only very gradually and trying to hurry it up will result in extra muscle lost or extra fat gained. Remember: slow and steady!
