Ask Mike Your Fitness Question:
149. Q: dont you think that professional bodybuilders are overweight even though they carry little fat?

A: It's a subjective judgement. If you go by the BMI measure, pro bodybuilders are certainly overweight. But BMI is meant to be applied to average people, not to athletes like bodybuilders, as the explanation page for BMI will tell you.

From health point of view, as far as I know there haven't been any long-term studies done on pro bodybuilders, but anecdotally many of them do seem to suffer from health problems. However it also seems pretty clear that many of those problems stem from steroid abuse and not from their body weight as such. So it's tough to say whether health-wise bodybuilders suffer from the same problems as 'regular' overweight people.

I agree that modern pro bodybuilders do tend to have rather large stomachs (most likely again due to steroid abuse leading to expanded internal organs) almost giving them overweight appearence. If you look at pictures of classic bodybuilder, from the 70s and earlier you will see they tend to have a much slimmer appearence than pro bodybuilders of the present day.

150. Q: If you have man boobs and weight train a lot will that turn into muscle...i want to lose my man boobs through push ups. Is this possible?

A: Fat cannot turn into muscle and muscle cannot turn into fat. What you can do is lose the fat making up those man boobs and build the muscle in its place. Please read Q&A #112 and Q&A #62 to see how to get rid of man boobs for good.
