1784. Q:
when a girl loses weight do there boobs get smaller?
A:
Yes, that will happen to some degree. Fat loss happens everywhere on the body and breasts are no exception. But the majority of fat loss will happen at the biggest fat deposits on the body -- the stomach and thigh area.
1785. Q:
mike, i made some protein bars to eat at school
i eat breakfast at 6 30, and lucnh is at 10 45.
my question is, each bar has 27g of protein, and 22g of carbs. should i cut them in half, and have one inbetween breakfast and lunch, and one inbetween lunch and home, or just one full one inbetween breakfast and lunch? which would be like 13.5g of protein inbetween meals . i dont want to eat 2 full ones, because i will be draining my whey protein supplies way to fast.
A:
Assuming you don't get to eat till 3pm in the afternoon after school, I would probably recommend eating two full protein bars: one before lunch and one after. To save on your whey powder, just put less of it when you make the bar, even use just half the current amount. You won't get as much protein per bar, but at least you'll still get calories from carbs (hopefully healthy carbs) to keep your metabolism high.
1786. Q:
Why is it that most food labels dont count calories in fiber? Should this be a concern? If you eat say 50 grams of fiber a day that could be 200 calories.
A:
Your body for the most part is not able to use fiber for energy, so that's why it is usually not included in calorie count. This is not completely uniform -- some label seem to count fiber in calories, at least partially.
Usually we don't eat that much fiber (though good job if you're getting 50 grams/day!) so it doesn't add up to much one way or another. If you are trying to count calories, then it's fine to count it ether way as long as you are being consistent! Either always count fiber as calories or never count it.
1787. Q:
I am a 19 yrs old girl.My height is 5'3' and my weight is 39.5kgs.I have tried a lot but have not succeded in gaining weight.I am very depressed. Please suggest the exact food that i should have to gain weight.
A:
Most importantly, you simply need to eat more. You won't feel hungry, but you'll need to remind yourself to eat anyway. Focus on foods that are healthy yet calorie-rich -- brown rice, whole-wheat bread and other whole grains, sweet potatoes, bananas, olive oil, dry-roasted nuts. A good quick snack is whole-wheat bread with natural peanut butter and maybe a piece of fruit -- a couple filling snacks like that throughout the day in addition to what you eat normally will help you start gaining some weight. Good luck!

Mike I am not going to be able to use the gym for nex month or so. I wanted to know if I should jump back into high volume training when I am able to use the gym again. Also what can I do to limit muscle and strength loss while I unable to go to the gym. I have been trining for a little over a year and just had four weeks of your 5 day high volume training. I am 23 yr old male. Thanks mike
A:
Yes, it should be fine to pick right where you left off with high volume after you return. Expect to get extra-sore the first week, but after that it'll be back to normal.
To minimize muscle loss while you are not working out make sure you eat enough to not lose weight. Some strength loss is unavoidable because strength is dependent on continuous practice. But once you get back to the gym your strength level will return to normal after 2-3 weeks (assuming you don't lose any weight.
Another thing you can do, assuming you are not sick or injured, is to do bodyweight exercises while you are away from the gym -- check out this program.
1789. Q:
I was a bit overweighted before but now i have obtained some muscles and iam lean overall. After a bit of cutting i have lost even more fat and i only have around stomach area(thing that is very common).I cant continue the cutting face as i eat already only about 2450-2500 calories only each day.I have been told that in order to lose the extra fat around my stomach area i need to either eat even less thing that is not possible or exercise a lot more thing i cant afford to do due to my job.
The other way is to obtain more muscles and then do again cutting.Apart from that is there any way to lose more fat around belly area?
A:
No, those are the only two choices: 1) you keep cutting, by eating even less and/or exercising more or 2) go on a clean bulk to rev your metabolism up a bit more and build some muscle before restarting on a cut. You can also try to simply keeping your weight constant and just keep at working out and eating healthy -- you will make progress but it will be very very slow, especially if your body fat is already under 15% or so. I would recommmend picking one of the other two choices.
