Summer of '08 is here, and its time to get down to work! This is the time that I have been waiting for to really get ripped so that I can amaze people that haven't seen me in a while. I've been overweight basically all my life, and literally never have seen myself in a normal weight range. I want to get down from 29% body fat to anywhere under 24% body fat in 3 months. I will lift weights every other day and do cardio 5-6 times a week. My diet is most important, which will include clean foods, and cheat meals once every here and there. I am determined to lose this fat and really tone up so that I can look awesome. Good luck to everyone and hope everyone has a great summer!

One question, is 5% body fat loss possible in 3 months? I don't know how easy it is to lose body fat rather than weight.

Going from 29% body fat to 24% in 3 months is a very reasonable goal. If you weigh, say, 200 pounds then 29% body fat means that you are carrying 58 pounds of fat. Going to 24% would mean you'd reduce the fat to 48 pounds. So you are aiming for 10 pounds of fat lost in 3 months which is very very doable and if you are stick closely to your program you may well achieve even better results!

Aim for a loss of no more than about one pound per week -- with a good training program and at your young age you don't necessarily need to lose very much weight to burn fat and build muscle (thereby reducing body fat percentage).

Good luck and looking forward to your progress!

Hey buddy, good to hear from you.  Glad to see you're hitting the weights and cleaning up the diet.  Like Mike said, let us know what your workout is like.  I also like seeing people's diets.
