Hello, I am also doing the 3 day a week strength program, but I have also coupled it with the 3 day a week full-body program.  I will be starting week 3 tomorrow (monday) and for the most part, it's gone well.  One problem, though, is I have a twinge in my lower back and off to the right; this tends to go down my right glute.  I am pretty sure it is from the squats.  I don't always feel it, just when I bend or straighten up and it is not debilitating.  Just to be on the safe side, though, I am going to skip the squats and the dead lifts next week.  Also, I also walk for about 20 minutes following my workout.

I also try to keep a pretty clean diet during the week.  I do tend to go a little crazy with my eating on the weekends, and I am going to clean that up a little bit.  I realize that If I try to eat as strict as I do Monday through Friday, I would go out of my mind with boredom.

On a side note, I checked my blood pressure today: 117/77.  Not bad considering my Dr. wanted to put me on hypertension medication (which I refused) a couple of years ago, before I started seriously working out and changing my diet.

Anywho, this is my first BLOG entry.

Hey bigbubba, good to see your blog here! Sounds like you have your plan together. Be careful with those small nagging injuries -- they can develop into something more serious if you never let them fully heal. So yeah, definitely lay off squats and deads. If you at all have the opportunity it's a good idea to consult a physical therapist about it too. Best of luck and I'll be checking in on your progress!
