Welcome, CDW! Your progress sounds great for 2 months -- remember slow and steady wins the race here. In 6-12 months you will have transformed yourself completely AND laid the foundation to stay in great shape the rest of your life. You didn't mention whether you're a guy or a woman or your height and weight, but unless you are petite woman 1200 calories a day is definitely on the low side, as you say. If you go over that regularly, that's fine. If not, I would strongly consider increasing it so that you have the opportunity to cut them back down later down the road when the fat loss slows (as it eventually will). Overall it sounds like you're doing great, however, so just keep it going and good luck.
