Welcome, marps! Your training and cardio sound good. All things being equal I would recommend higher intensity cardio than just walking, but it's not a huge deal either way. You may also want to search for "HIIT" on my site (search function is top right of the screen) as an alternative form of cardio. As far as nutrition, in your question you said you were planning to start with my 1500 diet: http://www.mikesfitness.com/article_nutritioncut1500.php Is that what you are doing now? As I said in my reply it's probably a little low for you but if it helps you ease into the program, that's fine to begin with. It's also fine if prior to starting this program you weren't eating very much. Many people begin losing weight by essentially starving themselves which gives the appearence of fast weight loss, though in reality it almost never works in the long run. If that's the case with you then that's more reason to start with that 1500 diet. If, however, you have always been eating relatively a lot (over 2000 calories daily, at least) I would suggest upgrading to this plan: http://www.mikesfitness.com/article_nutritioncut.php Start tracking your weight by weighing yourself on the same scale in the morning after using the restroom and before eating or drinking anything. Your weight will fluctuate day to day, but over the long run you should see a clear steady trend down. Losing about 1 pound per week is the perfect sustainable long term weight loss pace for most people who are just overweight and not badly obese. Note that the first week with a new diet plan may result in a big drop or jump in weight -- ignore that and just start tracking starting the second week. So weigh yourself in the mornings and record your weight (here in your blog is a good place) and over time you should see a trend. If it ends up that you are losing weight too fast (2 pounds or more per week) you will want to increase your calories. And if you are not losing weight fast enough we'll have to look in detail at your program and make some changes (because you should be able to lose weight with that 1500 calories nutrition program and good exercise).
