5 Foot 4 Inches, 130 Pounds, Would Like To Lose 10 Pounds
Q: I am 5 foot 4 at 130 pounds what should my calorie intake be if I would like to lose 10 pounds.
A: Simply eating fewer calories alone is not the best way to lose the extra weight, especially for somebody like you who is already in good shape -- your body will resist burning fat in response to fewer calories and will instead burn muscle unless you give it 'reason' to keep the muscle and burn the fat. If you lose 10 pounds of mostly muscle you will likely not be that happy with the results compared to if you lose 10 pounds of mostly fat.
So in addition to eating fewer calories you would do well to engage in some sort of resistance training to 'encourage' your body to keep the muscle and burn the fat.
