Become Bulky And Gain Too Much Muscles
Q: Hi Mike, I'm female and 18 this year, i was thinking of doing some weights at the gym to tone my body but i'm afraid i'll become bulky and gain too much muscles.
A: Becoming bulky and gaining excessive muscle is entirely a function of eating too much, not of lifting weights. Women especially do not the physiology to grow a lot of muscle without significant extra calories. If you overeat and gain weight, then yes, it is possible to gain unwanted muscle. However if you eat just enough to maintain your weight or lose weight slowly, then you will absolutely not become bulky or muscular but instead lean and toned.
If you lift weights and overeat you will become muscular. If you lift weights and undereat (or eat just enough to maintain current weight) you will become lean and toned. It's that simple.
