Best Way To Keep Track Of Calorie Intake

Q: Mike, I just submitted a question signed by Slim. I forgot to add that althought I try to follow your meal plans daily. What is the best way to keep track of calorie intake. I hear and read different ways but its all to confusing. I need a simple technique that when I am going to a buffet to pick my salads, meats, grains etc. I am getting exactly what you suggested. Is hter a way for me to judge that I am getting a cup or 1/2 ounce etc. Thanks again, Slim

A: For somebody like you, with high metabolism and trying to gain weight, it's really not worth it to stress too much about measuring portion sizes exactly. Eyeball portion sizes as best you can and don't be afraid to eat a little more than the meal plan prescribes. Just make sure you slowly and steadily gain weight. Over time you will get good at eyeballing portion sizes and also knowing how much you need to eat to gain weight. For now, just take advantage of your high metabolism and grab generous portions of healthy foods.
