Carrying Extra Weight After Child Birth
Q: hi mike i gave birth 21mths ago and am still not at my prebaby weight im stil 14lb over, i run, i spin do pilates, circuits and aerobics, i am carrying my extra weight around my hips, bum and thighs its really starting to get me down. I have good muscles there if i could manage to lose the layer of fat, can u suggest anything to help me?
A: Unfortunately what you've experienced is not uncommon at all. Many women find it that pounds become much easier to gain and much harder to lose after childbirth. The approach to fighting this new fat should still be the same as before: a combination of good diet, heavy whole-body resistance training, and cardio. You definitely have the cardio part covered but you haven't mentioned your diet at all and circuit training is usually not a good substitute for heavy-whole body resistance training. So chances are you could use the most improvement in those two areas: Nutrition and Weight Training. Read through those two articles and incorporate their suggestions into your diet and workout routines. Good luck and please feel free to come back here if you have any specific questions about your diet or exercise routine.
