Diet For Mixed Martial Arts

Q: Can some one please give me a simple diet for mixed martial arts?Have no clue where to go from here my weight is 142 lbs.

A: Unfortunately I can't give you a specific diet without knowing your current daily calorie level and your goal weight (whether you want to bulk up or slim down or stay the same). If you want, post back describing what you eat now and what you want your weight to be.

Also you may want to readi my Nutrition article to get the basics behind healthy eating. It is not targeted specifically at athletes like yourself, so you will want to eat realtively more carbs than it prescribes, getting up to 60% of your daily calories from carbs and the rest from protein and fats. Another way of getting a rough idea of a good diet for yourself is to use my Fitness Guide to get a sample diet and then increasing the portion sizes of carb-rich foods in it by 50-100% to make it more appropriate for martial arts.
