Do You Swim Faster In Cold Or Warm Water

Q: do you competitively swim faster in cold or warm water?

A: I haven't heard of any experiments done on this, but my guess is that you'd swim faster in warmer water because the colder the water the more energy the body has to expend on just maintaining its normal temperature and bloodflow to the extremeties is weakened in colder water. In warmer water more energy should be available for the actual swimming.
