Exercises To Grow Taller
Q: Is there any stretches or workouts to help me grow taller? And if you keep feeling growing pains every night, does that mean you're hitting a growth spurt?
A: Sorry, unfortunately there's no kind of exercise or stretching that can make you grow taller. Growth happens at the two ends of every bone, called growth or epiphyseal plates. If you injure your growth plate while still growing, it may stunt your growth and/or result in health problems later in life. Because of that, it is NOT recommended that boys or girls under the age of 16 (and even later, especially for boys who may grow till they are 19) engage in heavy weight lifting to muscular failure. But safe light or moderate recreational weight lifting under adult supervision is perfectly fine and beneficial.
And you are correct that your growing pains probably indicate a growth spurt. In intense growth spurts a boy or a girl may add up to 4 inches to their height in just one year.
So don't worry about growing tall quickly and let the nature take its course. In the meanwhile you can get a big headstart by educating yourself about physical exercise, both resistance and cardio and starting on moderate programs. Have fun growing tall, strong, and fast!
