Fruits In Diet

Q: Mike I was wondering why there are no fruit in any part of this diet and what would be the best way to get this down to 5 to 6 meals a day without eating too many calarioes in one sitting.

A: Not sure which exact diet you are referring to, but in general my recommendations are to limit fruit intake when you are trying to lose weight and fat. Fruits are very healthy but they do have relatively a lot of calories all of which come from carbs. When losing fat you should be limiting your overall calories and carbs and the best way of doing so is to consume a lot of green leafy vegetables like spinach or broccoli and to limit grains and fruits. Again, this is not because fruits are bad for you -- they are just not the best choice when losing weight or fat. If you are not trying to lose weight, then you can certainly eat fruits in abundance.

And as far as eating many small meals, it's just a matter of planning. I give several diet plans in my Nutrition article that are like that. It's definitely a lot of work to plan out and maintain your diet like that and most people probably simply don't have the time to prepare and eat 6 small meals every day. So you just have to do your best. Maybe you can only eat 4 or 5 meals instead of 6. Everybody has to find their own balance between their real-world schedule demands and the goal of eating many small balanced meals daily.
