Is It OK To Train Two Parts Of My Body Without Rest Day In Between
Q: I have some questions.Ok,first.I do weight training 3 times a week so i ll be able to train every week my whole body.I do weight training on Monday first day of the week but the other 2 days i have to do together(one following by another without having a resting day between them)cause other day i dont have free time to do so.But in these 2 days i train different parts of my body.Is it ok?I mean this way do i allow my muscles to recover from the previous day since i train different team of muscles each time? Also, when 2 days pass from the day i did weight training do i need to take protein then?(as fas as i know the recovery period of muscles is one day after u trained them. And last,if u dont go to gym or exercise in general do u need protein? Thanks.
A: To your first question, yes, you can have two workouts back-to-back in which you hit different body parts. Try to distance the back-to-back days from Monday -- so Thursday & Friday is probably the best days for that. If that doesn't fit your schedule, then just do best you can.
For your second question, there's no reason why your diet should change significantly in the protein intake day-to-day. I recommend keeping your diet the same throughout and that you try to get at least one gram of protein per pound of bodyweight daily, preferably more.
