Eating Healthy, But Constipated

Q: I am currently four weeks into my training programme and all seems to be going well. I have lost 6pounds and muscle tone is begining to show but something must be lacking in my diet as I am passing wind regularly but when it comes to going to the toilet I find myself constipated. I am eating healthy portions of veg along with protein. Any ideas Mike what could be causing this?

Daughter Wanting To Go On A Diet

A: I would certainly use weights in addition to cardio. By themselves weights only make your metabolism higher and help you burn calories faster! What goes wrong for some people using weights is that the high metabolism makes them hungry and they start eating everything in sight -- and of course gain weight! If you have a firm control of your diet, weight training will only help you achieve your goals faster.

13 Years Old, Build 6-Pack And Muscles Fast

Q: Hi i am 13 years old. I work out everyday for about 1 hour and a half to 2 hours... and i bench abut 60... and i use the total gym 1500.. in gym and at home i do puchups... and i use the iron gym at home as well.. and i need a good like way to build my 6 pack and build my muscles fast. .but im adhd and my pills make me not want to eatr and if i eat i feel like i wana throw up so i keep gettin like less muscle cuz my stomach eats away at them.. i need a good like nutrition diet type thing i should go on any ideas mike... please..

Right Thigh Bigger Than Left

Q: I have been working out very hard and often. I can see a change in my body. I'm small to begin with, so I am just looking to tone. My problem is that my right thigh is bigger than my left by a noticable amount and its never been like that. I found out recently I am gluten intollerant. Is it possible to only lose fat off one leg? I am very upset and no one seems to know what this is about. It sucks to have one pant leg tight and I'm a size 2! Please help.

Flabby 16 Inch Calves

Q: Hi Mike. I hope you can help me with my problem. :) I have 16 inch calves and I'm a girl, 15 years old. I think it's fat because it wiggles and it's flabby same also as my thighs. I wonder if there's something I can do about it. I'm currently doing cardio such as running, walking and cycling. And I also thought if I should drink green tea or diet supplements with L-carnitine to help me burn the fat faster, it seems unappropriate for the lessof my body. 5 Foot 4 Inches, 130 Pounds, Would Like To Lose 10 Pounds

A: Simply eating fewer calories alone is not the best way to lose the extra weight, especially for somebody like you who is already in good shape -- your body will resist burning fat in response to fewer calories and will instead burn muscle unless you give it 'reason' to keep the muscle and burn the fat. If you lose 10 pounds of mostly muscle you will likely not be that happy with the results compared to if you lose 10 pounds of mostly fat.
