What Protein Powder Should I Be Taking

Q: Hi Mike, I am confused about what protein powder I should be taking. I am trying to strip down the fat from my body and and show off the muscle that I have been building up for quiet some time. I am a 77kg female and I train 4x a week with an advanced level of weight training. There are just too many protein powders out there and I am wanting to know what's best for my build and stripping fat. Thanks Mike.

How Many Calories If You Walk All Day

Q: If u walk all day a total of 2245 steps how many calories do u burn?

A: An average step is about 2 feet long, so 2245 steps is around 4500 feet or a bit less than a mile. It takes around 120 calories to walk one mile, so walking 4500 feet burns somewhere around 100 calories.

The thing to realize is that counting calories or walking a lot is far from the most effective way to lose fat and keep it off. Please read my article on How To Lose Fat.

How Many Sets And Reps To Tone And Maintain

Q: hi mike, i would like to tone and maintain my body, how many sets and how many reps should i do, plus how heavy should i be carrying?

A: Check out my weight training -- you should find all the answers there. Remember that there's no such thing as 'heavy' -- only 'heavy for you'. You'll need to pick out weights for every exercise that are 'heavy for you' -- that you can only lift 12 times or so before needing a break. As you get stronger you'll need to keep increasing those weights to keep it under 12 reps per set or so.

Hold Position Where Muscle Is Working Hardest

Q: In my weight training I try to hold the position where the muscle is working the hardest(whilst moving slightly to work the muscle even harder) and hold that for a couple of seconds then repeat. so for a pull up that would be the position where I've pulled myself up as high as possible. Does this type of exercise have a name and how effect do you reckon it is ? personally I find very effective. Thanks in advance.

Not Bad Shape, But Can't Lose Belly And Love Handles

Q: Hi Mike. Hope you can help me. Im 42, 6ft 1 and weight 90kg. I do weights 4 times a week and cardio 3 times a week, usually HIIT on running machine for 20 /25 mins. Im not bad shape but can't seem to lose the belly and love handles which are not really bad but they annoy me. Body fat is about 16.9 using calipers but I want this down. Problem is I dont want to lose muscle mass. I have been told that I need to eat 2400 cals a day over a 6 meal period, this will include protein drinks. I believe i need to take 1.2g of protein per 1lb body weight.

220 Lbs With A Bit Of Muscle But Large Gut

Q: I just started a new diet, which involved 3-4 pieces of fruit, a can of V8 1-2 puree fruit cups, a can of lentil, minestrone or chunky soup, and a small container of vegetables (such as carrots, broccoli, or peppers) I usually top this off with a dinner consisting of a chicken breast, with some brown rice or perhaps a few sandwiches with light mayo and whole wheat bread. for snacks I've started eating handfuls of raw almonds.... I currently weigh 220 LBS, with a fair bit of muscle, but a pretty large gut.. I imagine my optimum weight to be 190-200 LBS...
