Lose As Much Weight As Possible ASAP
Q: iam 20 weight 77kg and i wanna lose as much weight as possible asap. what exactly can i do.. iam going to the gym already but i dont know what iam doing wrong.. iam a very fussy eater and iam addicted to carbs and chocolate.. please help me iam desperate
A: First of all, drop the idea of losing weight 'as fast as possible'. What you really want to do is lose FAT (not just 'weight') and losing fat is best done gradually -- this also ensures that the fat doesn't come back.
You didn't mention your height or gender, but at 77kgs you are not badly overweight and with some patience and discipline you can get in as good a shape as you want. Basic rule of thumb is to allow 1 month to lose 2kgs. So if your goal is, say, to be 65kgs (loss of 12kgs from your present weight) then you should allow 6 months to get there. Slow steady weight loss like this ensures that what you lose is actual fat and not muscle. And preserving and building your muscles in turn ensures that the fat doesn't come back.
So what should you do for these 6 or however many months? You need to do intense whole-body weight training and need to have a clean healthy diet. Read my weight training article and my nutrition article. Read them a couple times to make sure you really get the key points -- extra 30 minutes spent on learning this information will save you months or years of wasted gym and dieting. After you understand, fill out fitness guide specifying 'Lose Fat' as the goal to get your complete training and diet prescription (77kgs is 170 pounds).
Exercises should be fairly straightforward. If you're not sure what a certain exercise is, check here or ask knowledgeable people in your gym (don't be afraid to ask!). Start with moderate weights to get used to the new exercises and once you feel comfortable, start adding weight every week until the exercises become truly challenging.
The diet is going to be tougher, especially since as you said you are a fussy eater. Good weight training alone will allow you to make some progress even with complete junk diet, but hopefully you'll realize that you're only sabotaging your own progress and hard work in the gym by not eating healthy. Do your best and every time you're about to eat some junk ask yourself how happy will it really make you once its gone compared to the satisfaction you'll get from having the physique you really want. You'll inevitably have setbacks in your diet when you break down and eat a ton of junk, but don't get discouraged -- just get right back to your diet plan. And feel free to ask me any questions here. Best of luck!
