Lose Six Pack In The Summer

Q: hey mike... im 14 turning 15, over the school year i did the swim team weightlifting, and spring track, next year i want to add cross country. Any way, those sports(especially swimming) got me in really good shape. i have a six pack...but now over summer im not doing anything but eating and just hanging around, will i lose my six pack and my overall fitness with minimal exercise untill i start the school year? thanks mike, kevin

A: You have very little to worry about unless you absolutely pig out over the summer. As long as you can keep your weight about constant or at least not gain more than a few pounds, then you'll keep your six-pack intact. If you are growing in height now, then even some extra new weight will not threaten your six-pack. At worst you'll lose it temporarily and will regain it quickly once you get back to exercising. Good job on being in such great shape and enjoy your summer!
