My Appetite Fluctuates
Q: Hi mike! i have been noticing lately that my appetite fluctuates tremendously. I try to stay at 2000 calories a day, but sometimes i just don't feel like eating that. Some days I only eat maybe 1400 to 1500 calories. Then on other days I am still starving even at 2000. I know 1500 is was too low for an active guy in his early 20's. How can I stabilize my appetite? I do eat lots of whole veggies and some fruits tons of protien and mostly good carbs. Thanks in advance.
A: Most likely you are simply not eating enough in general. Even 2000 calories is quite low for young active guy and the more you weigh, the more you need to eat. If you're 150 pounds, for example, you should probably be eating somewhere around 2500 calories. As you eat more your metabolism will wake up more and you'll actually start getting hungry more. My recommendation would be to slowly increase your calories and, if possible, maintain a regular eating schedule every day.
