Reduce Calories For The Week Of Rest
Q: Mike i have a problem with my back and this week i wont go to gym at all.The previous week i didnt get also cause it was rest period after 2 months of continuus heavy whole weight training. In order to keep my muscles and not gain any fat should i eat more or less this week.Maybe i ll need another week rest after this one also.Should i reduce my calories or not?
A: I probably would not change calories at all, even if you take the whole three weeks off. If you do gain fat it will be a miniscule amount and you'll lose it easily once you restart weight training. If you really really want to optimize it, you can maybe drop 200 calories daily in the third week, but I honestly wouldn't worry about it at all and just keep diet as is. You're doing the right thing by letting your back recover -- good luck with it!
