What Is A Healthy Breakfast
Q: Hey Mike, whats a healthy breakfast other than cottage cheese and strawberries or oatmeal
A: Why would you want to eat anything else?! Just kidding :) The two most important things you want for breakfast is a complex fiberous starchy source of carbs (of which oatmeal is probably the perfect example) and a good source of protein, such as cottage cheese, whey protein powder, eggs and/or egg whites, chicken, lean meat, or fish.
If you just can't stomach oatmeal (which, once again, is just about the perfect carb source and tastes excellent with some fruits or cinnamon) you can go with things like whole-grain bread/toast, cheerios, fruits, grits, veggies (in an omelette perhaps). Try and stay away from sugary cereals or white bread.
For protein you can use any of the things I mentioned above. An omelette of two whole eggs + 2 egg whites, for example, provides about 25 grams of protein along with 180 calories. Just go VERY easy on oil if you make omelettes. Whey protein powder is another good protein choice for breakfast -- one scoop provides 20-25 grams of almost pure protein.
